課程概述 |
This course will introduce articulatory and acoustic phonetics, with an emphasis on the production and transcription of sounds of the world’s languages. The lectures will concentrate on the general principles involved in speech production, how to articulate speech sounds, and how to transcribe them with IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). | |

By the end of the semester, students should be able to:
‧ define technical terms (e.g., describe articulation of sounds) ‧ accurately identify and discriminate sounds (in production and perception) ‧ provide examples from their own experience (e.g., L2 errors, film, dialects) | |
